THE MODERNIST – ASHLEY TATUM

Ashley Tatum formed Tatum Art Advisory, LLC. to provide exceptional advisory services and guidance to serious collectors of 20th Century and Contemporary art.

Prior to establishing Tatum Art Advisory, Ms. Tatum served as Vice President of Carey Ellis Company, a firm that provides art expertise nationwide to corporations and private collectors in the areas of art acquisition, de-accession, installation design, collection management and curatorial planning.

Her career history includes nearly a decade as Director at Pillsbury & Peters Fine Art. The gallery later resumed its name to Gerald Peters Gallery, a nationally regarded name in American fine art. Ms. Tatum’s keen market knowledge helped her cultivate strong client and artist relationships, while serving as a cultural liaison to others within the art industry.

As a formerly Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers and certified in the Uniform Standard Principles of Appraisal Practice, Ms. Tatum built a strong foundation in the ethics of art evaluation and its responsibility in the global art market.

Before becoming established in the commercial side of the art world, Ms. Tatum worked in collections management for the highly regarded Margaret and Trammell Crow Collection of Asian Art.

A graduate of Westminster College in Missouri, she holds a degree in Art History and Museum Studies. Ms. Tatum’s community involvement includes service on committees for the Dallas Museum of Art; the Texas Sculpture Association; the Dallas Contemporary, the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center and the Aging Mind Foundation..
