On Thursday, October 3, the Architecture and Design Foundation will once again present ROCKITECTURE, our signature fundraiser benefiting our programming at AD EX, the Architecture and Design Exchange. We will gather at the City of Dallas landmarked Old Dallas High School thanks to our host Perkins + Will. The evening will be for members of the community who love and appreciate the important role played by good architecture and design in our daily lives. The evening will be for members of the community who are champions for how great design can build a great city. We think that describes you perfectly, and we would love to have you join us as a member of the Host Committee for the event.
This year will be a special one—in celebrating our party venue and its long history, we will honor two Honorary Co-Chairs who have done much to save it: Veletta Forsythe Lill and Jack Matthews. As council member, Veletta led the charge to have the previously neglected building earn landmark status…over the objection of an absentee landlord. Jack’s experience and reputation as a developer who recognizes the importance of our city’s architectural legacies are illustrated in his effort to renovate and revitalize the building, giving it new life as a mixed-use project.
