October InTown Outing Davy Crockett School (The Principal Residences)

WEDNESDAY | November 7
6 p.m.
401 North Carroll Avenue, 75246

Join us for a tour of the historic Davy Crockett Elementary School in old East Dallas. The school was designed by local architects Hubbell & Greene, and opened in 1903 with several additions added over time. Originally used as an elementary school until the mid-1980’s, it was saved from demolition with help from Preservation Dallas and the East Dallas neighborhoods surrounding it. The school was purchased from D.I.S.D. in 2011 and a much needed restoration occurred, earning the project a 2015 Preservation Achievement Award. The front façade features a Romanesque Revival style and this is an iconic gem not to be missed, now living as The Principal Residences.
