Inspired by the resilience and innovation of Dallas’ earliest Asian immigrants, Preservation Dallas is thrilled to partner with the Dallas Asian American Historical Society (DAAHS) to present “Leftover: The Enduring Legacy of Chinese Cuisine in Dallas.” The exhibition—which is DAAHS’s first public exhibit—will highlight the enduring legacy of Chinese restaurateurs in the city, and will feature historical research, oral stories, and artifacts in visual displays designed by local Asian American artists.
“Leftover” will open for public viewing on Friday evening, July 7th, 2023, as well as Saturday afternoon, July 8th 2023, at the historic Wilson House, on the Meadows Foundation’s Wilson Block campus in Old East Dallas. It will remain on view at the Wilson House, located at 2922 Swiss Ave, through mid-September. Viewings after July 8th can be arranged throughout the summer by appointment, by contacting Preservation Dallas at 214-821-3290 or by email at admin@preservationdallas.org.
