Dallas, TX 75287

Traveling through the Metroplex, we are constantly surrounded by historic places that are hidden in the sprawling landscape. Many are little-known, and some are truly hidden gems. One of these is Frankford, the historic farming community in Far-North Dallas for which Frankford Road is named.

Join Preservation Dallas and the Dallas County Pioneer Association to admire the extraordinary work of the Frankford Preservation Foundation, and to enjoy the serene beauty of Frankford. We will learn about this historic North Texas village, and tour the church and cemetery, along with the adjacent springs and historic wagon camp.

We will also get a special tour of the original Blackland Prairie on the site—much of which was never tilled, and has recently undergone extensive ecosystem restoration—with Master Naturalist Rich Jaynes. We will get to enjoy Frankford in its late-spring glory.
