Preservation Dallas is excited to present the Hollywood / Santa Monica Centennial Home Tour. This historic neighborhood is celebrating their 100 years with a variety of events the weekend of May 3 and 4. The Home Tour will feature several brick-style Tudor homes that are prevalent in the neighborhood. In fact, Hollywood / Santa Monica is considered one of the largest collections of homes with this unique approach to the Tudor style in the entire country. However, the neighborhood still boasts a variety of styles, including Spanish Eclectic, French Eclectic, Minimal Traditional, Craftsman, Monterey, and Pueblo Revival. The architectural character of Hollywood / Santa Monica was initially made consistent through deed restrictions but has since been protected by the neighborhood’s Conservation District designation. The beautiful homes of Hollywood / Santa Monica provide a glimpse of Dallas’s storied past, which we hope will continue to be preserved well into the future.
Friday, May 3 from 5:30 to 9 pm is the Candlelight Home Tour and Wine Walk. Tour 6 homes on this Candlelight Tour, including the Preservation Dallas Showcase Home available to tour only during the Friday Candlelight Tour! Enjoy complimentary wine by Times Ten Cellars at each home, plus bites at the Showcase Home.
