Canstruction Dallas returns to NorthPark Center from September 8-23 to benefit the North Texas Food Bank in the most unique food drive in the world.
Canstruction, Inc. is a registered 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that holds annual design and build competitions to construct fantastic, giant-sized, structures made entirely out of canned food to benefit The North Texas Food Bank. It was created by the Society for Design Administration (SDA) and the American Institute of Architects. Using thousands of full cans of food, Dallas architects and engineers compete to build the most spectacular sculptures and fight hunger in the community. Last year alone, Dallas citywide competitions donated more than 158,000 pounds of food to local food banks through Canstruction.
While canned food may look like a regular grocery item to most, these creative minds use cans of different colors, shapes, and sizes to build something that is anything but ordinary. The 2018 Dallas Canstruction theme is Oh the Places We CAN Go! Expect to see whimsical and creative designs of all kinds.
