Scott + Cooner Hosts Lee Broom and his new lighting collection titled ‘Observatory’.
The collection included the notable Eclipse piece, which won the Best of NYCxDESIGN 2018. Lee Broom along with two members of his team, Charles Rugard, company CEO, and, Fernanda Chandoha were all in attendance.
Guests sipped on wine as they admired the ‘Observatory’ collection and enjoyed pizza samplings and various appetizers from Sassetta. The restaurant featured their popular four cheese and burnt honey pizza, kale and mushroom pizza, and their classic pepperoni pizza. Appetizers included bruschetta, meatballs, charred octopus, and variety of meats and cheeses for guests to enjoy. Sassetta features Lee Broom lighting, making it a unique partnership and neighbor for Scott + Cooner.
Lee Broom introduced himself to the crowd and explained his background working as an apprentice to Dame Vivienne Westwood and his eventual transition into lighting design. Broom then went on to discuss how the stars are his inspiration for this collection. ‘Observatory’ is Lee Broom’s most progressive work to date, where celestial designs play with proportions of vertical and horizontal space, sculptural, spherical form, and the refraction and reflection of light.
Following his speech, guests continued to mingle while Lee Broom and Charles Rugard circulated the room to speak with guests who included a mix of interior designers, architects, and many admirers of his work. The lighting pieces under which they mingled included Lee Broom’s Crescent, Carousel, Orion, and Lens Flair.
Lee Broom’s collection is available at both Dallas and Austin showrooms.
