50 Ways To Leave Your Patriarchy
Cynthia Ann Miro

Mighty Fine Arts presents “50 Ways To Leave Your Patriarchy” featuring new work by Cynthia Ann Miro. This show opens Sat March 16 with a reception for the artist and will run till April 28. The work of Cynthia Ann Miro is consistent in its creative fluidity. She is an avid experimenter moving dexterously from video and photography to drawing and painting to conceptual object making. Her virtuosity reflects her inquisitive intellect and critical acumen. In this exhibit she pursues the thread of patriarchal hegemony by countering its mansplaining with feminine agency. Her images and ideas take their lineage and precedence from the under represented cultural presence of women. Time to jettison the old patriarchal fallacies and engage with the deeper values inherent in female power! Also on Opening Night! Wordspace Artspeak presents a musical performance by Atom and EV! Atom and EV play avant-rock music with quirky left of center songs described as moody rock for the lovelorn. Their melodic tunes feature sultry vocals and sinewy guitar lines. Their low key aesthetic belies their subtle brilliance and bold originality!
