In the Meantime
an online exclusive show featuring the work of June Covington, Ann Chisholm, Bang Dang, Courtney Googe, Erin McAllister, Courtney Miles, Derek Nemunaitis, Danny Joe Rose III and Kyle Steed.
In the Meantime features a collection of mixed media, watercolor, acrylic, and collage on canvas inspired by the concept of change. Available exclusively through Artsy.net, the exhibit serves as the first virtual show Mauldin is mounting of her artists’ work as she transitions from her brick-and-mortar space in Bishop Arts to develop a new experiential art destination in the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area. Previously, the gallerist managed her space on North Bishop Avenue from January 2017 until May of this year.
“In the Meantime is all about the concept of change,” Mauldin says. “It’s a phrase I came to over and over again as I moved into this transitional phase. We’ll be introducing new work from our artists on Artsy as well as mounting pop-up shows as we look for our next magical space and place. I have some big ideas to put into place, and I’ll be tapping into my hospitality background to create a destination site for art aficionados.”
Works featured include Ann Chisholm’s intricate collage inspired by universal modes of communication; Bang Dang’s two-dimensional “atmospheres” of intricate linework offset by vibrant bursts of color; Courtney Googe’s mixed media work inspired by Minoan acrobats and classical frescoes; Danny Rose’s painting combining nature and abstraction and Kyle Steed’s playful, personal acrylics, among others.
The show will be followed by Gust from artist Danny Joe Rose III, followed by an exhibit highlighting the work of female artists represented by Jen Mauldin. All online exclusive shows will highlight accessible works curated for the collector in mind.
