“Terra and Bloom” brings together the unique works of oil painters Kerri Menchaca and Alonsa Guevara, both of whom explore the deep connection between humanity and the natural world through their art. Menchaca, a Texas native, draws inspiration from the rugged landscapes of rural Texas, capturing the fleeting beauty of its vast terrain. Her paintings, grounded in realism, evoke the serene essence of the state’s untouched natural beauty. Guevara’s vibrant fruit still lifes, inspired by her childhood in the Ecuadorian rainforest, blend fantasy and reality, creating a vivid world where nature’s beauty and humanity’s emotional ties are intertwined. Together, their works evoke a powerful, shared reverence for nature’s beauty and fragility.

Transportation Transformation

“Transportation Transformation,” a solo exhibition by Greg Bahr. Bahr explores the everyday act of driving, turning his daily routes into abstract, pattern-based art. This series is an extension of his ongoing examination of the rhythms and routines of daily travel—a central part of family life that involves the complex task of shuttling children to various destinations throughout the week. What is often seen as a tedious task is reimagined here as a source of inspiration. Each journey, with its repetitive yet distinct patterns, becomes a visual representation of motion and time, transforming ordinary moments of transit into a dynamic dialogue within the artwork. Bahr’s work is shaped by formal elements like pattern, color, and repetition, drawing from the seemingly mundane tasks of daily life. His experience as a preparator at The Amon Carter Museum for over 15 years also deeply influences his art. Through his art, Bahr aims to transform these paths into something beautiful and meaningful, elevating the ordinary through carefully entwined patterns that reveal the hidden elegance within life’s routines.
