2020 Annual Meeting

This year we are going virtual with our Annual Meeting, so you can join us from the comfort of your home. At the meeting, the general membership will elect new board members to the Preservation Dallas Board of Trustees. The slate of nominees for the board is below. In addition, we will announce the places chosen for the 2020 Most Endangered Historic Places list.

Proposed slate of new board members for a 2020-2023 term:
David Griffin – David is a real estate broker and the founder and President of David Griffin & Company Realtors. He has over 30 years in the residential real estate field marketing distinctive and architecturally significant homes in Dallas and the Park Cities. David has been involved with Preservation Dallas before chairing events and fundraisers. He believes that the built environment is part of our history and as citizens of Dallas it remains important that we work to preserve those places.
Steve Lucy – Steve is a structural engineer and the CEO of JQ, an engineering firm located in Dallas. He grew up in East Texas and with extended family scattered in multiple communities was always interested in the history of the communities and his family’s connection to that history. Steve has worked on more than 100 projects involving historic preservation ranging from 25 Texas county courthouses, multiple CCC projects across the state, over 20 buildings at Fair Park, and numerous projects in Dallas for which he has won Preservation Achievement Awards. He believes strongly in historic preservation and has established a graduate fellowship in historic preservation in the Texas A&M Civil Engineering Department.
Nancy Shelton – Nancy has always been interested in historic preservation and has been involved with working to save the historic Aldredge House for a long time. She says that she has a new appreciation for all the effort that goes into saving historic places and neighborhoods after working with the Aldredge House. She has been a long time member and supporter of Preservation Dallas and has enjoyed learning about the historic gems in Dallas and the different areas of the city. She also says it is so important to speak up for saving historic places and will herself at any opportunity.
Ron Siebler – Ron is the President of Siebler, Inc., a historic preservation based contracting firm in Dallas. He has worked with numerous museums to restore historic buildings and objects using materials and historically informed techniques that meet the highest preservation standards. Ron has won numerous awards from Preservation Dallas including the Craftsmanship Award. He is also a volunteer at museums, interpreting historic crafts, and teaches classes in preservation repair techniques, demonstrating his devotion to both historic structures and education.
Patrick Todd – Patrick serves as a Partner with Todd Interests, a commercial real estate investment and development firm located in Dallas. The firm has worked on numerous historic projects in Dallas including the Historic Federal Courthouse and Post Office, the redevelopment of the East Quarter, and is currently working on the largest historic preservation project in Texas with the rehabilitation of 1401 Elm Street. His firm’s office is in the Historic Federal Courthouse and Post Office downtown where he spends the majority of his time redeveloping historic structures. He says he would not live in, office in and work on historic buildings were it not for a tremendous affinity for bringing such buildings back to life.
Claudia Worme – Claudia has been involved with Preservation Dallas for a long time first starting as a volunteer working on the Discover Dallas Project in the early 2000s. She also served for six years on the board, and served on the Executive Committee as Secretary. She has sat on multiple committees and was involved in planning for many events including chairing one Fall Architectural Tours. She says she has always been interested in preservation, and has an interest in historic architecture. She strongly believes that the limited amount of historic buildings and neighborhoods of Dallas should be protected, as they add to the cultural and historic significance, as well as value, for the City.
