Join AD EX and UTA CAPPA in the launch of a book important to all who are interested in North Texas architecture. Join us for a book signing and evening honoring the publication of The Open-Ended City, a collection of articles written by the late architecture critic David Dillon and edited by UTA architecture historian Kathryn E. Holliday. The event will occur from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the AD EX with brief remarks at 7:00 p.m. The event is open to the public, but registration is requested. About The Open-Ended City:
In 1980, David Dillon launched his career as an architectural critic with a provocative article that asked “Why Is Dallas Architecture So Bad?” Over the next quarter century, he offered readers of The Dallas Morning News a vision of how good architecture and planning could improve quality of life, combating the negative effects of urban sprawl, civic fragmentation, and rapacious real estate development typical in Texas cities.
