| Their drop-dead connection centers on the compositions lacking human presence both background and foreground-wise with the onlooker waiting for action to take over – printed newspapers passing through the presses, speeding subways stopped to be boarded. Even if a real person is placed in the picture as the main subject matter, the elements in the picture appear is cold, perfectly still and totally personality-less - all brilliantly accomplished through the photographer’s style and selected venues. |

| Mike received a BA from Stanford University and an MFA in Studio Art from UTA in Austin in 2006. He’s a recipient of a Fulbright in Taiwan, a Houston Center for Photography Fellowship, a residence at the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart, an Artpace Travel Grant, a Puffin Grant, and, scholarships from the University of Texas. His work is in articles in the New Yorker, Dallas Morning News, Artlies and ArtsHouston, |

| Mike's work is in public collections such as the Austin Museum of Art, Dallas Museum of Art and One Arts Plaza in Dallas. In March 2011, he will be in an exhibition of Texas photographers at Fotofest curated by two of the Menil Collection’s curators. |
