sicilia
designed by: Sarah Lavoine
collaboration with ceramicist, Jars

The newly inspired shades – lime tree green, terracotta red and sunflower yellow – as well as the
brand’s signature colors (“Bleu Vintage” and “Baby Pink”) play against the intensity of black and
white. This contrast, enhanced by the finish of the ceramic - at once both matte and shiny – is as
noticeable to the touch as it is to the eye.
Manufactured by the Jars brand, ceramicist since 1897, the pieces are made from sandstone, a
high quality ceramic, baked at extremely high temperatures (1200°C).
With the well-being of the individual consistently at the heart of her philosophy, the designer
created the ‘Sicilia’ collection to work for a multitude of occasions. The collection consists of a
complete range of tableware: plates (dinner plates, soup bowls and dessert plates), glasses,
a  tea set (teacups, bowls and teapot), table centerpieces, ashtrays and trinket dishes.

After a trip to Italy, Sarah Lavoine
returned with her mind’s eye
saturated with the vibrant colors
of the Sicilian landscape. These
were the memories that informed
the starting point of her ‘Sicilia’
collection.

drift platter
designed by: Wei Young
Subtle, meandering lines on the Drift Platter capture the beauty of sand drifts in the desert and the
lovely asymmetry of nature’s creations. The lines are practical too, making it easy to arrange your
culinary creations. Heat it up for use with grilled seafood, kebabs on skewers, corn on the cob,
and more. Or chill it and bring it out to the deck piled high with shrimp or veggies. Subtle handles
at either end make it easy to pass. Nambé Alloy,     17.5" L. X 10" W. X 2" H. Hand wash.

As with all great design and manufacturing, much of Jem is produced by hand. Swarovski®
supplies Watermark Designs with a mix of their naturally brilliant cut and uncut crystals “fixed”
to a delicate film to hold each gem specifically in place. To protect the crystals, Watermark’s
designers hand tool and set the crystal beds to the required size and affix them to the handles
and the spout so that they are flush with a precision brass bezel border. Having the crystals sit
in this recessed way provides additional protection and adds to the streamlined design. These
precious crystals impart refined glamour and possess a masterful command of light and
brilliance. avaialble at:

granit 25-piece dinnerware set
designed by: Eva Zeisel
In 1926, the Kispester-Granit factory in Budapest hired Eva Zeisel, who was 20 years old at the time, as a
designer. It was only her first job, but the company was so impressed with her initial work that they created
a special art department for her. The employees, who normally produced ceramic sinks, all wanted to
work with Zeisel as she brought elegant vases, whimsical rhinoceros-shaped ashtrays and beautiful
teapots into the product mix. The factory closed her department after just one year, but the experience
sparked a brilliant career. Almost 60 years later, Zeisel returned to the factory and designed the Granit
Collection (1983). Though widely exhibited, the set – which features her signature fluid, sensuous curves –
wasn’t put into production until 2009. DWR worked closely with Zeisel to ensure that Granit adheres to
her exacting standards. “I like the way the very thin, hard edges of the plates change into a soft, inviting
bellybutton,” she said. “All the pieces together make a very nice family.” The plates and bowls each
feature a dimple in the center, and their matte white finish offers a neutral backdrop for culinary
delights. This collection is food, microwave and dishwasher safe. Made in China. available at:
